spanish visa

• My International company has requested that I (a Canadian employee) transfer to the office in Barcelona and has completed all of the application process for the transfer.
  
  My companies’ Spanish lawyers have already met with the Spanish immigration to approve the application.
  
  The application was approved by the Spanish authorities in September and the visa is currently being processed in Spain.
  
  My company was told that there would be a delay of 4-5 months until the paper work is complete.
  
  During these months am I legally allowed to enter Barcelona as a tourist or for training related purposes related to work as I am still an employee in Canada?
