INTERNSHIP: YOUTH FIELD OFFICER

• The New York Teen Preganancy Network is lokking for Interns that will work within the New York State. We believe the prevention of adolescent pregnancies is in the best interest of adolescents, their families and society. We believe parents should be the primary sex educators of their children. We believe that the most effective health and sexuality education is abstinence-first, age-appropriate and comprehensive.
  Scope of workWorking closely with the Head Information Dept. the officer will be responsible for the following activities:- Assess current methods of communications and existing materials in the field- Recommend ways of improving communications between the NGo and victims of Teen Pregnancy and abuse- Conduct two short training programmes for victims and parentsNumber of working days: The duration of the contract will be 14 months. The timing of the consultancy can be negotiated.Number Required: Six
  Core competencies- A good university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Knowledge Management
  - At least 1 year of relevant and ability to learn- Thorough knowledge of and practical experience in the full range of communications and advocacy approaches, tools and methodologies essential to planning and executing effective campaign strategies and programmes- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in written and oral form- Strong technical and analytical capabilities
  - Knowledge of computer systems, internet and use of other technology for communications- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relations both within and outside the organization- Fluency in English
